2025 is the second year of Electrify Queenstown. It’s bigger, bolder, and even more inspiring with three days of talks, workshops, and field trips covering the latest advances in electrification and renewable energy.

Electrify Queenstown is an event designed for homeowners and businesses looking to explore the benefits of electrification and renewable energy. It offers talks, workshops, an exhibition and experiences covering everything from government policy to practical applications like adopting solar energy and converting vehicle fleets to EVs.
Electrify Queenstown will be held from May 26 to May 28, 2025, at Skyline Queenstown and the Queenstown Events Centre.
The event is perfect for anyone interested in reducing their environmental impact, saving money on energy, and future-proofing their home or business. Whether you're a homeowner, a business leader, or an environmental advocate, there’s something for everyone.
Electrify Queenstown offers three days of engaging content, including:
Attendance to talks, workshops, and the exhibition and display is completely free. However, registration is required to secure your spot and for entry. There may be a charge to cover the transport for the Electric Experiences.
These are immersive field trips that allow attendees to visit local businesses and projects leading the way in electrification and renewable energy. It’s an opportunity to learn directly from those making positive changes in their businesses.

Absolutely! The exhibition will cutting-edge electrical tech, as well as opportunities to test drive the latest EVs.
There will be plenty of networking opportunities, including morning and afternoon teas and lunches where you can connect with business leaders, innovators, and energy experts.
To reduce environmental impact of the event, we encourage you to arrive by walking, cycling or taking public transport.
DAY 1 – SKYLINE
Walking:
Skyline is a short 700m / 10-minute walk from the centre of Queenstown.
Cycling:
Enjoy a scenic ride to Skyline Queenstown. Check local cycling routes (visit queenstowntrails.org.nz) to plan your cycling trip and allow enough time for a leisurely ride. Park your bike at the dedicated free bike racks provided at the front of Skyline Queenstown. These racks offer a secure and convenient space for cyclists.
Electric Scooters: Beam operates in Queenstown. Use Google Maps or download the Beam app for more information.
Public Transport:
Skyline is a 700m / 10-minute walk from the closest bus stop. Check Queenstown's bus schedule for routes and timings (visit orc.govt.nz/orbus/queenstown-buses/).
Parking:
If you must drive, please try to use an electric vehicle and/or car share. Parking is located directly behind the Skyline Gondola base terminal. The multi-storey car park offers 297 public car parks, including spaces for motorcycles and bicycles, EV charging stations, and accessible parking.
DAYS 2 & 3 - QUEENSTOWN EVENTS CENTRE
Cycling:
Check local cycling routes (visit queenstowntrails.org.nz) to plan your cycling trip. Cycle racks are provided at the entrance.
Electric Scooters:
Beam operates in Queenstown. Use Google Maps or download the Beam app for more information.
Public Transport:
The Queenstown Events Centre is a 850m / 12-minute walk from the closest bus stop. Check Queenstown's bus schedule for routes and timings (visit orc.govt.nz/orbus/queenstown-buses/).
Parking:
If you must drive, please try to use an electric vehicle and/or car share. On-site car parking is available for visitors.

DAY 1 - SKYLINE
The Skyline complex is wheelchair-friendly.
Parking: Accessible parking is available in Skyline's multi-storey car park which is located directly behind the Skyline Gondola base terminal. If you have a Mobility Parking Permit, once you have registered for the event, please call +64 3 441 0101 to arrange access to the Base Terminal drop-off zone.
Gondola: The 10-seat Gondola cabins have level loading, allowing wheelchairs to roll straight into the cabin from the loading zone. The Gondolas can be slowed down or stopped as needed, to enable you to board and disembark at a comfortable pace. Skyline will always ensure you are fully supported and catered for.
Getting to the Event Space: The Wakatipu Room has wheelchair access via an internal lift. Skyline's team is always available to provide additional support if required.
DAY 2: QUEENSTOWN EVENTS CENTRE
The Queenstown Event Centre is wheelchair-friendly.
Parking: There are three accessible parking spaces located on the left-hand side as you enter the main car park. Wheelchair access to the QEC is available through the doors on the right-hand side.
Speaker Sessions, Panels, Exhibition and Displays: These are located on the ground floor where there are also two accessible toilets.
Workshops: These will take place on the mezzanine level which is accessible via stairs or a lift. There is an accessible toilet on this level too. Please reach out to Deborah.Husheer@qldc.govt.nz with any questions about accessibility at this venue.
DAY 3 – ELECTRIC EXPERIENCESThese trips are less immediately accessible, however if you have access needs and you’re keen to come to one of the Electric Experiences, please talk to our Electrify Queenstown team about your needs, and we’ll do our very best to make it work. Skyline Queenstown proudly supports 100% renewable electricity generation by purchasing Meridian’s Certified Renewable Energy product. This ensures that the electricity they draw from the grid in New Zealand is matched on an annual basis by an equivalent amount from Meridian’s hydro stations or wind farms, both of which are independently verified as producing 100% renewable electricity.
